How to [Mod]
#1
Congratulations! You're a [Mod]!

Now remember, with great power... Gahh screw it, you know the rest.

Anyway, as a Moderator we ask that you follow this thread.

Guidelines
  1. We do not tolerate harassment. If a player is doing so, first tell them to stop. If they refuse, /kick them with a message warning them. If they again continue to do so, mute the player for a reasonable amount of time(nothing ridiculous).
  2. Although, you don't have ban power. You can jail players, which does an awesome job at stopping them from griefing. The only time it's okay to jail a player, is if they are griefing or you feel the punishment is justifiable.
  3. You must punish all players in the same fashion, whether they are friends or not.
  4. Punishment intensity is up to you, as long as it's not insanely over the line.
Inspector
We use CoreProtect to log all block placements, animal kills, and issued commands/chat logs. As a moderator, you are given the CoreProtect inspect tool. This tool allows you to see who placed, and removed what block(s). If you were to find grief, you would use the inspector to find out who did it.

Block Damage: "/co i" - Place blocks where they removed them. Hit the block to see who placed it.

Chat Logs: "/co l u:username a:chat t:time"

Animal Kills: "co l u:username a:kill t:time r:radius"

Situation Examples
The punishment intensity is up to you, this is just a general guideline on how to properly react.

A player that's online is MAJOR griefing.
You must first be 100% sure that the player you are accusing is the one that is griefing. Double check this with the inspector.

Jail them.

Consult the player in chat. Most of the time nothing they say will make a difference. Often times, they will cause problems in chat, by spamming, or trolling. In this case, mute them.

To get the area fixed/rolledback, you must contact an @admin via discord, or just leave an open report by using /report player, while standing at the location of the grief/theft.

From here, an admin will rollback the player globally, and give them a ban.

A player that's online is MINOR griefing/stealing.
You must first be 100% sure that the player you are accusing is the one that is griefing. Double check this with the inspector.

Talk with them in chat about it, tell them you are giving them a warning, and not to do it again.

Warn them, with "/warn playername reason".

To get the area fixed/rolledback, you must contact an @admin via discord, or just leave an open report by using /report player, while standing at the location of the grief/theft.

A player is spamming or harassing others.
If the player is not rapidly spamming warn them in chat, to stop. Otherwise, mute on them on the spot.

If they continue after the verbal warning, kick them with a warning message.

If they keep on going, mute the player. The mute time is up to you.

Also, warn them with "/warn playername reason".

If it was blatant advertising spam, or extreme harassment, and there is no admin online report it on the forums, where they will be banned provided you have proper evidence.

Reporting
For any and every situation that needs an admin, please create a report ticket using /report, for us to see later(and tell us about it in discord).

Extra
Vip/Vip+ players get no special treatment, whatsoever. Everyone is treated the same way. If you are having trouble getting the players username, behind the nickname, use "/realname nickname"

PLEASE COMMUNICATE EVERY PUNISHMENT IN OUR STAFF DISCORD(while admins are away). LET ADMINS KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

It should go without saying that any sort of punishment shouldn't be ruled out with a bias.

Hey Sid,

Thank you so much for taking the time to layout the Moderator rules and guidelines to help me pinpoint which action to take in what scenario!
